A few weeks ago I had the wonderful privilege to perform at a very special benefit hosted by The Breman Museum at The Temple to honor the award-winning playwright Alfred Uhry, just before his Tony award-winning musical Parade had its national tour performances at Atlanta’s Fabulous Fox Theater. Mr. Uhry is also the Pulitzer prize-winning author of Driving Miss Daisy and The Last Night of Ballyhoo, two celebrated stories set in Atlanta, that like Parade, are very much rooted in Southern Jewish history and influenced by his own life. It was an honor to sing from the score of Parade for Mr. Uhry, composer Jason Robert Brown, the show’s Broadway producers Eric and Marci Gardiner, and a room full of Atlanta luminaries and passionate arts supporters. And what a joy to perform with local artists Nick Walker Jones, who sang the role of Leo Frank beautifully, and the always-stellar Judy Cole at the piano.

It was such a memorable evening to celebrate and honor a remarkable man and storyteller from our local community who has made such an indelible imprint on the national stage and screen. Thank you to The Breman Museum for inviting me to be a part of it!
